Dark Geography

In the morning in our underwear, I like to hear your dreams. I think about them all day long, and pretend I know what they mean. Sometimes I think about the old kings, in their pyramids, My dear I’m a mummy in your bedroom, wrapped up to my eyelids. The other night we went drinking, and the jukebox played good songs, We fell together in the alley way, as I tried to sing along. I caught a kiss and we fell in the darkness, you haven’t kissed me since. I scraped my arm and bled onto your pillow, your dreams still don’t make sense. She and I were dancers and drinkers, she usually drank cheap beer. I drank whiskey nearly every night, which made many things unclear. My like has never really been my own, always giving it away. I felt trapped and I felt alone, lost in dark geography.
